Coral reefs, found in the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific often grace TV channels or act as backdrops to movies.

Bring the Beauty and Excitement of Coral Reefs to the Classroom
Happy Habitats Marine Reef Project

Aqualease brings the beauty and wonder of this fascinating habitat to your educational setting.  A fantastic opportunity to study these bright, vibrant and stunning fish and corals in more detail.  Including clown fish, made famous by the movie ‘Finding Nemo’, gobies, cardinal fish and urchins.

In the natural world, it is a true spectacle to see symbiotic relationships play out before our eyes.  The coral reef aquarium provides the very opportunity to do just that.  A great example being the cleaner shrimp who will readily rid any passing fish of dead scales and parasites

The coral reef aquarium can be used as a learning tool to link in with many key areas of the curriculum and topics, Aqualease will also provide resources to further enhance learning.

Geography

Maps of the oceans, continents, countries and learning the locations of the species.

Numeracy

Estimating, measuring, volume and weight.

Literacy

Creative writing, researching the different species.

Science

Fish anatomy, vertebrates and invertebrates, food chains/pyramids.

PSHE

‘Symbiotic Relationships’, communities working together, exploring relationships.

The relaxing effect that an aquarium brings can only enhance the classroom environment.  Simply watching the fish swim and interact is extremely therapeutic, particularly for students who are neurodivergent.  An aquarium’s calming nature can be extremely positive for learning.

One of our technicians will set up the coral reef aquarium, fully complete with livestock and interiors.  They will be happy to chat and answer questions throughout this process.

As this is an interactive aquarium, equipment will be left, including a hydrometer to check salt levels and a magnet for cleaning, as well as a complete user guide.  This provides many opportunities for the students to take on different responsibilities to look after the aquarium and care for the fish.

Teachers and staff will have access to a range of resources to accompany the aquarium.  Helping to further enhance learning.

On the day of removal, our friendly technician will take away the aquarium in one go for minimum disruption.  If you find your classroom feels empty and your students are missing their scaley friends, please talk to us about a more permanent leasing option from our wide range of aquariums.

  • The fish tank has been a wonderful opportunity to support our children’s learning.  From art, design, science, literacy and maths.  The opportunities have been endless.  The children have particularly enjoyed researching about the origins of the fish and learning about their environment.  The sustainability of the tank is another wonder to the children when they see the shrimp crawl onto the clown fishes back to clean it!! – amazing!

  • A fantastic look into our ‘Animal Families’ topic in Year One. The children are mesmerised by the mini aquarium and can name the varieties of fish, label the different parts and explore what they eat. A brilliant resource for the classroom.
